We know what we are doing: We have been Spanish to foreigners for 25 years and are one of the oldest Spanish schools in Ecuador. Our school in Quito is located in a colonial style building in the historical center. Besides of classrooms you will find a common room to relax during your break on a big, cosy sofa. Shared areas include the balconies, a terrace, a kitchen and bathrooms. For sure we have wifi throughout the whole school and there are computers for you to use. Next door you will find a lot of shops, restaurants, markets, supermarkets, bus stations and a bank. The presidents palace is in walking distance. A lot of important sights are in walking distance.

All of our teachers are native speakers and own a university degrees in linguistics or literature. Many of them are working with us since the day we founded the school back in 1988. We want our students to learn fast, that’s why we choose our teachers very carefully.

Our teaching methods have been continuously developed during the last 25 years. Quito is one of the best places in Latin America to learn Spanish. Quiteños speak a very clear, slow and easy to understand Spanish. Our classes focus on vocabulary and grammar combined with practical communication skills and everyday vocabulary, which our students can use outside the classroom straight away. The program contains listening, oral and written exercises. Every week the progress of our students is evaluated and if necessary students can change to a different level.
Your Spanish classes in Quito will take place in the morning or in the afternoon for a minimum of four hours a day. Teachers will usually set a short exercise for homework each day. We offer classes for the following levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced and superior.

Accomodation in Quito

Living with a host family gives you a real insight into the Ecuadorian lifestyle and you will find your Spanish progresses rapidly as you spend time with local people. All of the host families live within a 15-20 minutes’ walk or 15 minutes by bus from our school. Staying with locals is the perfect way to accelerate your learning as you will be able to practice Spanish with the family outside of class. You will also get to know the culture and traditions of Ecuador through sharing everyday life with your hosts. You will share two meals a day with the family (breakfast and dinner), and you can arrange to spend time with them in the afternoons and at the weekend. The host families always give their guests a warm welcome and enjoy the opportunity to share Ecuadorian life and culture with someone from a different country.
Single, double and twin rooms are all available. Each host family has a shared living or dining room where you are welcome to relax, study, and chat to your hosts and their family or friends who come around. You will be treated as member of the family.
 Included: towels, bed linen, weekly cleaning, washing machine, your own set of keys, two meals a day (normally breakfast and dinner) with the family

Some may depend on the weather and the availability of equipment. Some of the activities are free, others have a cost depending on the type of activity.

Arrival to Quito

Before you can start your Spanish classes or Travelling classroom with us you need to get here. But no worries: There are many ways to get to the Ecuadorian capital, Quito.


Quito’s new airport is located 25km east of the city. Most international Airlines will take you there. From Quito there are regular domestic flights to Coca, Cuenca, Guayaquil, Manta and the Galapagos Islands. All inland flights last under one hour. A transfer from the Airport to your accommodation is included in all prices.

Quito has three main bus terminals. Ofelia in the north, Quitumbe in the South and the Terminal Terrestre Cumanda. After your arrival can easily take the Trolleybus to the city centre. Buses are the most important way of travelling in Ecuador. Therefore you will get to know the bus terminals very well. Travelling by bus is often the fastest and cheapest way to get to your destination.

our students receive a city map as well as a phone number in case of emergency. If you need assistance buying a mobile phone card, we will help you.

Your first day in school
will begin at 08:30 am with the level test. Absolute beginners will not do the tests and will start classes straight away. The timetable on the first day may be different to the rest of the week, but will be the same from Tuesday to Friday.
